Santa’s Classy Helpers

Santa’s Classy Helpers is a charity set up by our own Classy Lady, Lorraine Kenway, to raise money for needy families at Christmas time. This charity raises funds all year through social events, golf days, film nights and afternoon teas. The money raised provides a full trolley of groceries, clothings and treats for the whole family just before Christmas. The shopping day is held at The J in Noosa Junction and is an amazing scene of generosity by the local community and sponsors.

There is a team of willing volunteers who assist Lorraine to make this happen and another team of supporters who donate goods and money throughout the year and attend the many fundraising events.

Dear Santa’s Classy Helpers,

The Queensland Government has released their gradual easing of restrictions in relation to COVID-19 isolation.
Our community is feeling the effects of this pandemic, including many local needy families. We would like to re-commence collecting supplies for our Christmas shopping day, and we need your help !

Any contribution to the following list of products during May/June would be greatly appreciated.

  • Shampoo
  • Conditioner
  • Deodorant for women & men
  • Toothpaste
  • Toothbrushes
  • Dish washing liquid
  • Sponges
  • Chux cloths
  • Toilet cleaner
  • Spray & wipe cleaner

The products can be dropped off to the Gibson Rd store which is open till 4pm

The remainder of 2020 is going to be challenging, and we will really appreciate your help in making the Christmas shopping day a joyful one for so many in need .

Thank you

10c Refunds for containers!

We have found ourselves in an unfortunate situation regarding the recycling of the containers.
Unfortunately, the Waves of Kindness have asked for the drop off pod to be removed.  The information I received from Envirobank and Sandy Bolton’s office was that they were working on a new site in Noosaville area.  After four weeks, I am still to get an update on this happening.  To add to this situation, the only bags we have access to at the moment are the used ones from the Cooroy depo and the ties are usually broken, which makes them difficult to use.
The best solution we have for the time being is to ask for the containers to be dropped off at Containers for Change at 26 Action Street Noosaville (across the road from Waves of Kindness).  The containers can be taken there in any bags, however you may have to process them yourselves.  The staff at Containers for Change are fabulous and if you let them know it is for Classy Lady they should assist you.  The scheme number you require is C10143527.
We hope that you will continue to support our fundraising efforts with the recycling of our containers.  If you would like any further information or have any questions regarding this, please contact Glenda McKenzie on 0438 026 300.
